Teaching Assistant Autumn

Jade brings over ten years of experience working in preschool classrooms, with a background in speech and language support and a Level 3 Early Childhood Educator certification. She’s been part of the Fort Macleod Preschool family for several years, serving as a substitute teacher and even as a board member. Three of her own children have come through our program, and now her youngest will soon follow in their footsteps!

Jade loves creating a caring, playful space where kids can learn, grow, and explore at their own pace. When she’s not in the classroom, you’ll find her enjoying life with her husband and four kids, curled up with a good book, or out playing volleyball. Jade is excited to keep building connections in our community and to be part of these important early years for so many children.

Teaching Assistant Autumn

Autumn is a Level 3 Early Childhood Educator with a diploma in Child and Youth Care and several years of experience working with young children in classrooms and one-on-one settings. She’s passionate about helping kids learn through play and loves creating a welcoming space where every child feels safe, included, and celebrated.

Autumn enjoys building strong connections with families and believes in open, ongoing communication. In the classroom, she blends creativity and structure — from sensory activities and crafts to games that build confidence and friendships. Outside of preschool hours, she stays busy with her family and pets, who keep life fun and a little unpredictable! Autumn is excited to be part of the Fort Macleod Preschool community and looks forward to a wonderful year ahead.

The Fort Macleod Preschool is conveniently located in the heart of our community, sharing a building with the Kids First Family Centre and the Livingstone Range School Division (LRSD) K-6 School. This prime location provides our preschoolers with the unique opportunity to explore a variety of shared spaces. Your child will have access to the school’s gyms, outdoor areas, and the Kids Centre and Kitchen, enhancing their learning experiences through interaction with a range of environments. These spaces offer a dynamic and engaging backdrop for play, physical activity, and creative exploration, ensuring your child’s preschool experience is both fun and enriching.

About the Fort Macleod Preschool

Our program includes daily opportunities for physical activity that support your child’s physical growth. Whether it’s jumping, running, or creative outdoor play, we ensure every child develops both fine and gross motor skills. We also offer sensory experiences, such as music, art, and nature exploration, helping children engage all their senses while having fun.

We prioritize your child’s emotional well-being by fostering a loving, calm, and supportive environment. Our educators encourage kindness, empathy, and positive relationships with peers, guiding your child in managing emotions and developing social skills that will last a lifetime. Through play, your child will learn the importance of teamwork, self-expression, and confidence.

We believe in creating a warm, nurturing environment where your child’s curiosity can flourish. Our program is designed to encourage children to explore, play, and learn in a safe and structured space. We focus on emotional, social, and physical development, helping each child grow at their own pace while building confidence and independence.

Frequently Asked Questions

To enroll at Fort Macleod Preschool, children must be at least 3 years old and fully potty trained by September 1st of the year they are starting. This ensures that each child is developmentally ready for the activities and routines in our program.

Fort Macleod Preschool offers morning and afternoon classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from September through June. Our schedule aligns with the Livingstone Range School Division (LRSD) calendar.

Yes, we do accept enrollments after September, but please note that we cannot guarantee a space. Enrollments made after the start of the school year are reviewed on a case-by-case basis by our Teachers and Preschool Board. This ensures that we can maintain appropriate supports and ratios within the classrooms to provide the best experience for all children. Please contact us for more details or to inquire about available spaces.

Yes, we keep parents and guardians informed through regular updates! We use ClassDojo for all communication, including photos, updates, and important milestone events. This platform allows you to stay connected with your child’s progress and the exciting activities happening in the classroom.

The cost for preschool at Fort Macleod Preschool is $150 per month for 2 days a week. However, with our affordability grant, the reduced monthly parent portion would be only $50/month. Please note there is also a one-time $150 registration fee, which is reimbursed at the end of the school year once volunteer requirements are fulfilled.

While we encourage parents and guardians to allow their child the creative freedom to explore and grow, you are absolutely welcome to volunteer in the classroom! A criminal record and vulnerable sector check are required to volunteer. We recommend allowing your child to experience the classroom on their own, as our teachers are excellent at creating a safe, nurturing environment, making drop-off smooth. Every child is unique, and we understand it takes time. If you'd like, we arrange times for you to visit the classroom and meet the teacher before preschool begins, which we highly encourage!
